The Hines HVS is a static or non-rotating balancing machine configured and tooled for balancing airplane propellers. This balancer reads the amount and angle of unbalance in 1 to 3 seconds. Balancers for propellers and tooling, weighing over 50 pounds (25 Kg) come with pneumatic or hydraulic lifts as standard to assist the operator in lifting and lowering heavy propellers safely. HVS style balancing machine do not require rotating the part to determine the amount of unbalance which makes it faster and safer than other balancing machines.
A static balancing machine reads accurately in seconds. After reading, on-machine corrections can be made. Corrections are generally made by wiring on weights to meet FAA requirements. Heavier propellers will have a lift to carefully lower them on to the balancing equipment.
Machine Features
- Sensitive Enough to Balance Composite
- High Accuracy
- Fast Readouts
- Permanent Calibration
- Touch screen and intuitive menu displays
- Part parameter storage for later recall
- Operator confidence with repeatable part balancing
This machine is just one example of the many configurations and weight ranges available. Hines Industries also manufactures dynamic balancing machines. Dynamic balancers will display the amount of two plane unbalance. Two plane is the amount and angle required to correct for force and couple unbalance.
The right balancing machine for you depends on the size and mass of the propeller. Contact Hines to find out what machine and tooling is best for your propellers and process.
